Some of the many people involved with the orchestra since its inception
Ron Bell, the orchestra founder, took up the bassoon after he retired. After retiring from the orchestra he continued to monitor its progress, right upto his peaceful demise on Christmas Day 2017.
Justin Doyle, founder conductor of the orchestra.
Jack Scullard, our horn player, continued with us well into his nineties. He did a wonderful job juggling upto four horn parts. Fondly remembered
Will was our resident conductor from 2007 to 2014 during which time we saw many changes and expanded our sphere or activity.
Ben Goodson was our conductor between 2014 and 2016, introducing some very challenging repertoire, which was really good. He left sooner than expected to take up a conducting post with Rundfunkchor Berlin
Derek Harrison was our conductor for the Autumn Term of 2016. He came at short notice, as on previous occasions, and has been invaluable for getting us out of a fix. A very useful person to know.
