It was a key wish of our founder that SARO should visit Primary Schools in order to introduce young children to orchestral instruments and music. To this end we try to visit two to three local primary schools a year and if possible for members of the school orchestra or pupils learning instruments to play along side us. These events have proved so popular that we now have a waiting list.
We also hold conducting workshops which give music students the opportunity to practise their conducting skills with a live orchestra.
The orchestra also plays with young soloists seeking to gain from the experience of performing in this demanding role.
